These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Scaeno (the "app"), an image-guessing game for movies and TV shows, developed and operated by Hakan Arda Güven ("we", "us"). By using Scaeno, you agree to these Terms.
Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or playing as a guest, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
The service
Scaeno is a game where you guess movie and TV titles from backdrop images, across two difficulty modes (Easy and Hard). Movie and show data and images are sourced from The Movie Database (TMDB); this product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. You can play as a guest with no account, or create an account to save your progress, unlock Hard mode, and appear on leaderboards.
Accounts
You may play anonymously as a guest, or register an account with an email address and password. You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. Usernames are shown publicly on leaderboards — don't use a username that impersonates someone else or that we'd reasonably consider offensive.
Acceptable use
When using Scaeno, you agree not to:
- cheat, automate gameplay, or otherwise manipulate scores or leaderboard rankings;
- use bots, scripts, or scrapers against the app or its backend;
- use a username, avatar, or profile photo that is abusive, impersonates another person, or infringes someone else's rights;
- attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the app or its backend systems.
Intellectual property
Scaeno's software, design, and branding are owned by us. Movie and TV metadata and images are provided via the TMDB API and remain the property of their respective rights holders. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Termination
You can stop using Scaeno and delete your account at any time — see Account & Data Deletion. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate the Acceptable use section above.
Disclaimer & limitation of liability
Scaeno is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes to these Terms, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
